- USB - Plugs in printers, keyboards, iPods, speakers, and other computer peripherals. USB stands for Universal Serial Bus and most computers come with at least two of these ports.
- Firewire 400 - Plugs in external hard drives, video cams, and older iPods. The 400 means that 400 megabits per second can be transferred using this port. It’s ideal for large file transfers like video and presentations.
- Ethernet - This port is the most easy to identify as it connects internet systems or networked printers. The ethernet is slightly thicker than a phone cable and grants access to a cable or DSL modem.
- DVI - The digital video interface is native to Apple computers and are a female port. They are used to connect external video viewing sources.
